All Universal Analytics services cease to function starting July 1, 2024

Hello Google Analytics user,

On July 1, 2024, Google Analytics 4 properties will have fully replaced Universal Analytics properties, as previously announced. From that date, Google will begin turning off all Universal Analytics services and Universal Analytics APIs, which means Universal Analytics properties will be inaccessible through the Google Analytics front-end and APIs. If you haven't completely migrated to Google Analytics 4 properties, follow the migration guide to start making the switch today.

Exporting your data
To maintain access to data from your Universal Analytics property, you should download or export your data now. If this isn't done through one of the methods provided in the Google Analytics Help Center, your data will be permanently deleted by Google and won't be recoverable. If you intend to use the BigQuery integration to export historical data from your Universal Analytics 360 property, we strongly recommend initiating this immediately.

Product integrations
Universal Analytics data and settings accessed or used through advertiser, publisher or other product integrations will be unavailable when services have stopped. For example:

  1. Universal Analytics goals and ecommerce transactions will stop measuring new conversions, including within linked advertising accounts. This may affect ad campaign performance if those conversions are used in combination with Smart Bidding.
  2. Universal Analytics audience lists will be closed, which may affect ad campaign media activation and performance.
  3. API requests related to Universal Analytics properties will fail, including requests for deletion of Universal Analytics data through the User Deletion API. This also means that tools relying on an API, such as Looker Studio, will not show any Universal Analytics data.
  4. BigQuery export and backfill of historical data from Universal Analytics 360 properties can only be requested up to and including June 30, 2024. Already exported data remains available in BigQuery.
  5. Attribution Projects that were part of Attribution (beta) in Google Analytics will be deleted.

Sincerely,

The Google Analytics Team

Updates to Ad badging and Mute This Ad in Google Ad Manager

Announcing updates to our ad transparency features
Your Network Code: 9784401
Dear Partner,
In light of publisher feedback, we're announcing updates to our ad transparency features. Specifically, in Q3 2024, we will launch per-creative controls on ad badging for publisher managed creatives, and the sunsetting of Mute This Ad on reservations.
These updates aim to give publishers more control over where and when Google's ad badging appears on their creatives, and reduce certain instances of creatives being muted for reservations.
Ad Badging
Today, while publishers may disable ad badging for ads served outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), ad badging is permanently enabled for all creatives served to users in the EEA.
In Q3 2024, we will introduce a control that allows publishers to disable ad badging on a creative level for publisher managed creatives. We will also offer a network-level control for publishers to choose whether ad badging appears on publisher managed creatives worldwide or only in the EEA.
Where publishers disable Google's ad badging solution, publishers must ensure that ads served to users in the EEA include a mechanism for users to report illegal content. Publishers must notify Google of any illegal content reports using the appropriate form
For publisher-rendered formats publishers are required to send an appropriate &wta signal to indicate whether the publisher is rendering Google's ad badging solution. An ad request with &wta=1 or no &wta parameter is understood to indicate that the publisher will render the provided AdChoices information.
If an ad request includes &wta=0 then, beginning no earlier than September 10th, 2024, any creative in Ad Manager with Google's ad badging solution enabled would be ineligible to serve to users in the EEA. Creatives that do not have Google's ad badging solution enabled will still be eligible for these requests.
Mute This Ad
As we continue to evolve our ad transparency offering, we are also looking to reduce complexity for publishers. As part of this effort, Google Ad Manager will sunset the Mute This Ad feature on reservation creatives in Q3 2024.
The Mute This Ad functionality will continue to be available on ads from Google demand. You can monitor for further updates in our Help Center

Important updates about new US state privacy laws

Notice about new US state privacy laws
Your Network Code: 9784401
Dear Partner,
You're receiving this email because you are listed as an admin or legal manager of a Google Ad Manager account.
Over the course of 2024, Florida, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and Colorado have privacy law provisions coming into effect.
We will supplement the existing Google Ads Data Processing Terms Google Ads Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms Google Measurement Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms and U.S. State Privacy Laws Addendum No additional action is required to accept these terms if you've already agreed to the online data protection terms.
For US state privacy laws, Google continues to offer a range of tools for publishers to manage product behavior. Publishers can review relevant controls in our help center
If you are using Restricted Data Processing (RDP) at the account level, this account-level setting will additionally apply in Florida, Texas, Oregon, and Montana on or after June 15th, 2024. If you have traffic in Florida, Texas, Oregon, or Montana, you may see an increase in Restricted Data Processing traffic. Also note that if you use the Global Privacy Platform (GPP) framework, the account-level Restricted Data Processing setting will be overridden by GPP signals. Please also refer to our Ad Manager Help Center articles for more information on enabling restricted data processing.
Colorado Privacy Act Universal Opt-Out Mechanism provisions require that Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals opt the user out of Ad Targeting, Sale, or Share of data. For users in Colorado, Google will be receiving GPC signals directly and trigger RDP mode for those ad requests. As a result, customers might see increased RDP traffic in Colorado, which may impact monetization. Publishers can also choose to enable Restricted Data Processing when they are in the receipt of a GPC for a user.
Please see business.safety.google/compliance for more information about Google's data privacy policies and Restricted Data Processing.
If you have any questions about this update, please reach out to your account team or contact us through the Ad Manager Help Center
Until next time,
