easyJet launches third domestic destination from London Southend; adds Santorini from Manchester

easyJet

expanded its domestic coverage from London Southend (SEN) last week, as it commenced services on the 600-kilometre route from the southern base to Edinburgh (EDI) on 2 May. Hugh Aitken, the airline’s UK Commercial Manager, commented: “We’re making it extremely easy and affordable to visit the city or extend the journey further afield to other parts of the Lothians and Scotland by cutting the travel time to less than half compared to a train or car journey from the region and presenting our customers with great value.” A319s are deployed to operate the route. In addition, on 4 May, the carrier increased its summer offering from Manchester (MAN) with the launch of services to Santorini (JTR). Twice-weekly flights are offered on the route and operated using A320s, in competition with Thomas Cook and Thomson Airways, which serve the market from Manchester to the Greek island with a single weekly frequency each
